Heritaige tulip

I started my next big project. As I mentioned earlier I wish to stitch a series of four cross stitch pictures.

The first will be the tulip one. I received all the materials in the kit I should need for the stitching. (Threads, needle, material and instructions).

Heritege tulipán készlet

I  started the project about a month ago, but in the meantime I have to stop for a while to make my eyes rest. Before this, the project was in this stage:

Then in the last week I stitched a bit and the current shape is like this:

I have never stitched any kits from the Heritage collection before, so I was suprised how much half cross stitches have to be stitched into this picture. I have met with these stitches before when I was stitching the Tetty Teddy pictures or Winnie the Pooh kits. But in this picture there are also different shapes of half stitches also, divided by their horizontal or vertical halves. The other news for me relating to this picture is to stitch most of the crosses with two different thread colours. But this will make the final piece look beautiful.

I used to work with almost the same colour of threads next to each other during my previous Lanarte pictures as well, but to stitch all the holes of the picture is also new for me.  The advantage of this type of sample is that I can measure the stitches comparing them not only to the other ones but to the outlines as well. It is a good method for controlling the colours. By this time I  miscounted the stitches only one time and I  realised it soon, so I didn’t need to stitch back a lot of cross stitches – only half of a thread.

I am very satisfied with the current result and it seems to me that I am stitching this picture quicker and easier than I expected .

I am interested in how  you like my work at this stage. Please share your opinion with me!

  • Gyönyörű!
Ezeket a meleg vörösbarna-terrakotta-okker-méz-ekrü színárnyalatokat nagyon szeretem varrni is, meg egyébként magam körül is. A “mindenszemkivarrva” keresztszemes kicsit emlékeztet a gobelinre, számomra mégis szebb annál.
További jó alkotást, a végeredmény garantáltan kiállításra való minőség lesz!
    Örülök, hogy javul a szemed.
    Üdvözlettel
