The 14th time organized craft exhibition has been opened on last Friday. I went to this opening ceremony and it was good to see other craft-makers on the same event.
Since this year’s theme is the renaissance one of the attractions was the play on a special instrument – koboz – by Rozalia Szórádi.
After this production several eminent people said their speech about the importance of handmade products. Fortunately no one of them has long speech. On behalf of the Museum of Agriculture dr Szatmári Sarolta, the deputy director welcomed the visitors and artists. Other speech were told by dr Wieneck Leonard, Szűcs György and Gábor Simon. After the speeches it was just the time to recognise the winners. The offered prizes were introduced by Gergely Imre, the president of AMKA.
In the meantime I managed to got an album about the show and one photo of each exhibitor. This book was completed in just three weeks for what we have to say thank you for the organisers.
Unfortunately the exhibition in this year was in much smaller place in the museum than in previous years. But it did not mean that the number of pieces are less. In this year 278 artists’ 525 piece of crafts has been shown. Even if I already seen the exhibition at the Night of Museums I found a lot of surprises now. There were lot of eye-catching artwork like wooden statues, embroideries, enamels… I saw very nice clothes, wooden shelves, and I always became hungry when I see the and smell the gingerbreads.
However I have to mention one of the embroideries since I saw this one several times. It is likely that the majority of the visitors went over it without see the precise work on it. But since I stitch embroidery I know that this French knot embroidery should be made hardly. It was stitched by Galambos Istvánné.
Finally 14 of my 15 works has been submitted by the jury to this exhibition but due to the lack of space some of them were not shown. At the end 9 of my works was shown on the walls. Five cross stitched one and four quilts.
Please watch the photos of this exhibition what is uploaded into the exhibition’s menu under this link. If you like it, you can visit the exhibition personally as well till 27th of July in Vajdahunyad Castle.

Kedves Eszter!
A Kézművesség 2008 július 4.-i megnyitójáról szóló anyagot keresve bukkantam Rád. Örömmel nézem szép alkotásaidat. A képek között felfedeztem párom faragásait
– tölgyfa motívumos áttört- no meg a fejünk búbját az egyik képen…
Szeretettel üdvözöllek.

Sza!
