Where there is Christmas all year around

Egész évben Karácsony Skóciában

We spent 2 weeks in Scotland after visiting the quilt show in Birmingham.

On one of the days we stopped next to a glass making factory, and just next to it we saw a Christmas accessory shop – in the middle of August. Since we had time we went there to check out the shop. We found a well-equipped Christmas gift shop inside. It looked nice, but we never thought to find this in the middle of August.

The place itself gave me a nice feeling. I became waiting  for Christmas within a couple of minutes. Even Panna was enthusiastic when she went back to the angels, stars and Santas several times. As you can see on the pictures Panna was sitting next to the small Santas….

Within the shop itself all the different coloured decorations received separate small houses. There we could see detailed decorations, nature ones, elegant ones and rainbow coloured ones also. In a separate room different kinds of Christmas trees were decorated. I took some photos, which you can see Bellow:

But I have to tell you that in the middle of August it was a bit boring to listen to Christmas music. I belive if I would have listened to this music all year around I wouldn’t have any idea how to feel that christmas feeling at the right time of the year. The shop assistant told me that she enjoys this mood all year around.

I don’t know what is your opinion about the advertisement and Christmas feeling starting from October in the big supermarkets, but I definitely don’t like it. I know that this is a business … But Christmas should not mean spending money on gifts but about family and love. It seems to me that we are spending more effort on outward show than in looking after family.

Of course I am also preparing for Christmas. I am stitching, decorating and I am sure I will be cooking and baking cakes also. But I will try to keep all this within limits.

How do you prepare for Christmas?
