In the same time I am a bit interested to see someone else's perspectives during the photographing of my needlework. So I was happy to hear from one of our photographer friends offering a half day of photography both of me and my needlework. Only the place where we could take these photos, was missing.
We didn’t need any special place to take photos of me, since only some lights and plain walls were needed. So the first task was to take these pictures. This day has started with an hour long make-up session. Since I am not using make-up in my everyday life it was interesting to see what a change could be made by a small amount of make-up painted onto my face by two hands. At first sight the make-up seemed too strong for me but both the makeup woman and the photographer confirmed that this level of make-up is needed for a better result. Fortunately this feeling soon disappeared as soon as I got the instructions how to stand, on how to hold my head and where to look, smile… etc.
The photo taking lasted for a half day and it was very good despite the fact that both of us became tired by the end of this event. Niki Kelko – the photographer – spent additional hours with these pictures to make them ready and write them to a CD.
My husband also took a couple of photos of me after I arrived home, too. I think these photos are great also.
We found a nice place for the quilt and cross stitched projects to be photographed. We went in one afternoon to Székesfehétvár to one of the most beautiful furniture shops I have ever been. This shop sells Demko beds and we got a chance to use these pieces of furniture to take our photos, making some chaos in the boring days of the shop assistants. J
We arrived there with a full-packed car carrying cross stitches and quilts. In the first hour we only checked which positions would be good to take the photos. I believe that most of the best pictures had been taken in the second hour. We were standing on ladder, laying on the floor, switching on and off the lamps to get the best light and we were also working on finding the best positions. I felt myself very well here as well. In this place not only Niki took photos but my husband and even I used our camera as well. It is interesting to see the differences between the pictures taken by a professional and by us of the same subject. I found a lot of good photos in both of the groups. During this afternoon we also tried out the comfortable beds and looked around in the shop, too. Unfortunately I have not always had this kind of chance to take pictures of my needlework so the following pictures will be taken in the usual way at our home.
